“I am bored, I feel stifled, my life is mundane and routines monotonous”. Is this not a question asked by majority of homemakers who play a pivotal role in running their homes like clockwork, the glue that holds the fabric of family together, the cog which keeps the wheels of every home running effortlessly. She is silent in the background, her contributions unnoticed.
“Who am I, she asks. Do I have a role or identity? Am I just a wife, sister or a daughter? Why do I feel this sense of discontentment. Why am I saddened at my reflection in the mirror? Is this what I dreamt what my life would look like?
There are millions of women/homemakers who may resonate with this and wish to have a sense of identity where they are known by who they are and their capabilities and not just by their relationships.
The question they might ask is how do I achieve a sense of pride and find a niche for myself within my world without jeopardizing my family life or imbalancing the equilibrium of my family.
I myself have experienced such feelings many a times and questioned my being. So do we carry on, or do something about it. We all have to find our own way to get out of this rut in our lives and carve a niche for ourselves in whatever small way we can. For me a happy and content homemaker is the key to a happy family. So here is to all homemakers of our society, go find your niche.
